Installation instructions

The setup process for the Customer Photo Uploader application in your Shopify store is divided into 2 main steps:

1. Adding the App Theme Block to your Theme

2. Uploading your first photos

Let’s discover more about each of those to make the application installation process clear.

Adding the App Theme Block to your Theme

On the first installation step, to add only one gallery - either Product or Customer will be enough. However, you can add both of them to review the value from different gallery types in a few clicks.

Adding the Product Gallery Block

To add the Product Gallery application block to your theme:

1. Ensure the “Product Gallery” option is selected.

2. Utilize the “Add Your First Gallery” button.

3. After you’re redirected to your Theme editor, in the Product Default Template, you’ll see the Product Gallery added in the Apps section.

4. Save the changes in your Theme.

Here, you can also proceed with setting up this gallery. Click on it, and you’ll see a menu with multiple configuration options. You can get back to the gallery appearance editing anytime you want. Read more about customizing the gallery. [link to the Customizing the gallery page]

Adding the Custom Gallery Block

To add the Custom Gallery application block to your theme:

1. Select the “Custom gallery” option.

2. Utilize the “Add Your First Gallery” button.

3. After you’re redirected to your Theme editor, on the Home page, you’ll see the Custom Gallery added in the Apps section.

4. You can also delete the Custom Gallery from the Home page and add it to any other page of your store.

5. Save the changes in your Theme.

Here, you can also proceed with setting up this gallery. Click on it, and you’ll see a menu with multiple configuration options. You can get back to the gallery appearance editing anytime you want. Read more about customizing the gallery. [link to the Customizing the gallery page]

That’s it! The first step of installation is finalized. You can get back to the Customer Photo Uploader dashboard, refresh Theme App Block Status, and see that one of your galleries or both of them are active.

Uploading your first photos

After you have enabled the Customer Photo Uploader application in your Theme, try uploading your first photo. To do that, follow these simple instructions:

1. Click the “Upload New Photo” button.

2. In the window that opens, choose which gallery you’d like to have it added.

3. Define the status

   1. Approved - for an image that you’d like to display on your Shopify store right away.

   2. Pending - for an image that is under consideration, later the status can be changed to Approved or Rejected.

4. Select a photo from your device and upload it.

   

After the successful upload of your first photo, the setup process is finalized. For further adjustments, you can navigate the Theme editor in your Shopify Admin and other pages in the Customer Photo Uploader app.
